Raw Vegan Building Muscle…On a Budget
Day 1 – 5th April 2012

Not sure where to start. This day has been coming for a while. I’ve healed, mostly, my Ulcerative Colitis. It’s taken 8 years, and it’s been a long road. But I still have an issue. And that issue is my circulation. In the winter in the UK I get serious chill blanes and have developed over the last couple of years ‘Raynaud’s Disease‘ which is serious cut off of circulation to fingers and sometimes toes. Its got worse this year to the point of swollen fingers, sometimes white fingers, numb and now even inflamed and open wounds on the fingers themselves. I’m a guitar player so you see my problem.

I have been told by Chinese and Indian Doctors that I have extreme cold AND extreme hot in this body and it is very hard to get the balance, and boy are they right.

But, I have been advised and intuited myself that I need to grab hold of this coldness and change it. Chinese doctors have told me to eat meat or at least cooked food but, and here is the thing…I AM A RAW VEGAN
And I want to see if I can resolve this as a raw vegan in a cold climate. I see body builders in America who successfully build muscles mass, but they are in a warm climate, and probably pretty healthy.So my challenge is to take the next 3-6 months to build my body and improve my circulation. I am currently developing a plan..I have got somewhere but its a learning curve even though I have been healing for 8 years..This is a new area for me.

Where do I start?
PROTEIN.
I have checked out and I need way more protein than Im getting if I want to build muscle. I’m not sure exactly how much but right now I’m looking at between 80 and 110 grams of protein per day. That would be a good start. How will I get this as a Raw Vegan?
Hemp Powder and Spirulina are going to really help.
I am going to drink a Hemp Smoothie every morning. Banana, Apple, Spinach for example and 3 Tablespoons of Hemp Powder and a Tablespoon of Maca Powder. I may use Hemp seeds to make milk.
I will have another 3 Tablespoons of Hemp later in the day.
That will give me approx 30 grams of Protein.
Spirulina.
I am going to build up to get about 35 grams of protein from Spirulina. That for me is 2 Tablespoons and 30 Tablets.
If I am right that will give me about 65 grams of protein as a base each day, and I can build from there.

This is how I will keep building.
Greens, Nuts and Seeds (soaked), Avocado, Fruit, Sunflower and other sprouts, Olives, Coconut, and Flax and Hemp Oil. Etc etc.
I have boosters also:
I have a kidney and adrenal boost formula
Am going to start a thyroid boosting formula
Have got a strength formula of medicinal herbs and mushrooms specifically for muscle

And then of course...THE EXERCISE!!

Remember I said ‘On a budget?’
I can’t afford a gym right now so I am going to start at home with what Ive got, some dumbells, a rebounder and my arms. I will have to join a gym sooner or later, but I can start now..I have already been doing some weights, push ups and sit ups, but I have reached the limit of my power..It’s not great, maybe 30 push ups max, and then I get weak, so I must be able to do better than that!
